The Londvolota Trust is a leading SME development platform formed by General Electric South Africa in 2015 and aims to accelerate the growth of South Africa’s industrial sector.
Londvolota partners with local Small and Medium-sized Black-owned businesses who have the potential to grow and be suppliers to GE and other global companies.
We give Small and Medium-sized businesses the tools and support they need to help them grow which we do through close partnership, meaningful support and a shared vision.
GE established Londvolota as its B-BBEE Programme that is a sincere and sustained effort to develop black-owned SMEs in South Africa.
Working with local SMEs is a key component of GE’s goal to act local, think global.
Londvolota is acknowledged as a core component of GE in South Africa and is a demonstration of its commitment to the country’s strategic objectives and developmental goals. In 2019, Empowerdex ranked the Londvolota Investment Trust shareholding in GE South Africa with 24,58 points out of a maximum of 25.
Indeed, given GE’s first office outside of the USA was in Johannesburg in 1898, it is appropriate that this legacy continues to current times. GE itself has transformed from focusing on their original core industrial businesses to establishing itself as a technological company that has a horizontal global reach in 180 countries.
Londvolota is managed by a competent and skilled Board of Trustees and Directors. The Board meets quarterly and provides strategic direction and guidance to Londvolota. The Board also provides oversight to the daily operations which are conducted by an administrative and finance team.
