The process of becoming a beneficiary

We are looking for serious, dynamic, hungry entrepreneurs who want to take their existing businesses to the next level. The steps below explain how to apply for support and what you can expect as a Londvolota beneficiary.

1. Initial application
Your initial application and business needs will be reviewed and compared against Londvolota’s investment criteria and a decision will be made whether your application can be considered. Please review the criteria before making your application.
2. Review
Londvolota will conduct a detailed, formal analysis of your business proposal that is based on complete and objective information. This due diligence process verifies the information provided and we will communicate with you if additional information needs to be provided.
3. Finance
An Investments Committee considers the approval of your application including the structuring of finance provided and any terms and conditions thereon. At this point, you will be notified if you are approved by Londvolota, or not.
4. Grow
As part of the Londvolota community, you will receive continuous value-adding business support for the duration of the finance period, focusing on your business’s specific needs. The support is designed to enhance the success of your business while helping you implement your business plan. Through the Customer Innovation Centre, you will have access to some of the best industry specific expert advice, support and training from GE staff.
5. Exit
On payment of your final instalment according to an agreed financial plan or other agreed settlement, the formal involvement between Londvolota and your business ends. While additional funding and on-going support is possible, final settlement is a good time to review your business plans and discuss any finance and support needed.

Criteria

Londvolota aims to support small and growing businesses that require R10 million to R50 million over a medium finance term (3—7 years).

To qualify there are some criteria that need to be met. A due diligence process will be carried out.

We are looking for a business that:

Has an annual turnover not exceeding R50 million per annum
Is a South African domiciled business
Has at least 51% black ownership (as defined in the BBBEE codes)
Benefits from the operational involvement of the entrepreneur
Agrees to the programme terms and conditions, including periodic audits of company operations
Meets social and economic inclusion criteria
Has a proven track record and clear business plan
Operates within the sectors identified
Creates and sustains employment
